Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease or disorder characterized by high blood glucose levels. The prevalence of DM in Indonesia has increased from 6.9% in 2013 to 8.5% in 2018. In controlling DM, patients must have knowledge of nutritional therapy, which is a dietary arrangement. In addition to knowledge of nutritional therapy, knowledge of physical activity in controlling blood glucose levels is also needed, such as moderate exercise. This study is descriptive using a Cross Sectional Study design, conducted from December 2022 - May 2023 in the working area of the Lapai Community Health Center. Sampling in this study was carried out by purposive sampling, namely 382 populations with 43 samples. Data analysis was carried out univariately. The results of the analysis showed that more than half (53.5%) of respondents had low knowledge about DM nutritional therapy. Low knowledge is found in the recommended food schedule for type 2 DM patients. while (55.8%) of respondents who have moderate knowledge about DM Physical Activity. low knowledge is found in what intensity of physical exercise is good for DM patients.
